2022 Mazda3

The 2022 Mazda3 is available in eight trim packages: the 2.0 sedan, 2.5 S, Select, Preferred, Carbon Edition, Premium, 2.5 Turbo, and 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus. All trims have LED exterior lights, automatic headlights, daytime running lights, rain-sensitive intermittent wipers, and power mirrors. High-end features include a moonroof, a roof-mounted shark-fin antenna, a rear lip spoiler, and turn-signal-integrated/heated mirrors. Owners of the Mazda3 can choose from an array of modern paint colors. Paint options include Jet Black, Soul Red, Polymetal Gray, Platinum Quartz, Machine Gray, and Snowflake White.

The Mazda3 lineup offers three engine options. The 2.0 sedan has a 155-horsepower 2.0-liter I-4 engine. The 2.5 S, Select, Preferred, Carbon Edition, and Premium have a 186-horsepower 2.5-liter I-4 engine. The 2.5 Turbo and 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus trims have a 250-horsepower 2.5-liter dynamic pressure turbo I-4 engine. The 2.0 sedan, 2.5 S, Select, and Carbon Edition are front-wheel drive only. The Preferred and Premium trims are front-wheel drive with available all-wheel drive. The 2.5 Turbo and 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus are all-wheel-drive models only. A six-speed manual transmission is available on front-wheel-drive models. All-wheel-drive models have a six-speed automatic transmission.

The 2.0-liter I-4 engine is very efficient, boasting an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 28 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway. The independent MacPherson front and torsion beam axle rear suspensions provide a smooth, comfortable ride. Other standard performance features include stability control, traction control, and smart brake support. Premium, 2.5 Turbo, and 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus trims feature paddle shifters on the steering wheel.

All trims have power windows, speed-sensitive door locks, steering wheel-mounted audio/cruise controls, remote keyless entry, and a push-button start. High-end features include heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, leather-trimmed seats, and a power-adjustable driver's seat. The Mazda3 provides 13.2 cubic feet of cargo room. The 60/40 split-folding second-row seat allows for easy transportation of large or irregular items. Every Mazda3 is equipped with Mazda Connected Services, Bluetooth streaming audio, USB ports, a touch-screen display, HD radio, voice command, Pandora, and hands-free text messaging. Except for the 2.0 Sedan, all trims also feature Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Carbon Edition, Premium, 2.5 Turbo, and 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus feature a premium Bose 12-speaker audio system and satellite radio.

Every trim has an advanced suite of air bags, a rearview camera, second-row LATCH connectors, and child-safety rear door locks. Standard driver-assist features include a lane departure warning system, lane-keep assist, radar cruise control with stop and go, driver attention alert, and high-beam control. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, traffic sign recognition, adaptive front lighting, a 360-degree rear camera, and traffic jam assist are available on high-end models.
