A new car purchase is a big decision, and like all big financial decisions, it is important to be educated as a potential buyer. This is also the case with the new car warranty offered by a Mazda dealer. Every new Mazda comes with a manufacturer’s warranty that covers repairs in the unlikely event that your vehicle needs repairs during the first few years of ownership. Let’s take a closer look at the warranty provided by Mazda on new vehicle purchases.

What’s Included in a New Car Warranty at a Mazda Dealer?

Mazda offers two basic warranties with all new car purchases. The New-Vehicle Limited Warranty, and a powertrain warranty. Also, Mazda offers an anti-corrosion warranty, 24/7 roadside assistance, and excellent extended warranty options. These warranties help give the buyer of new vehicles peace of mind that they will not end up with a hefty repair bill during the first few years of ownership.

The New Vehicle Limited Warranty

The Mazda New-Vehicle Limited Warranty is valid for 3 years or 36,000 miles. This warranty covers all costs of repairing or replacing components that have malfunctioned due to factory defects or faulty workmanship. This warranty covers most components of the car including most electrical components. Please keep in mind that the warranties offered by Mazda are based on following the manufacturer’s recommended maintenance schedule.

The New-Vehicle Limited Warranty does not cover parts that wear out due to normal usage. This includes parts like tires, spark plugs, oil filters, windshield wiper blades, light bulbs, and other components that need to be replaced from time to time. Mazda does offer additional coverages that do cover some of these components for some time. Also, most tires are covered through the tire manufacturer’s coverage.

The Powertrain Warranty

The second basic warranty that comes with a new Mazda is the powertrain warranty. This warranty is good for 5 years or 60,000 miles, which is the industry standard. The powertrain warranty covers the specific components of the car that deliver power to the wheels. This includes the engine, transmission, driveshaft or drive belt, transaxle, differential, and other components that make the vehicle drive.

The powertrain warranty also does not cover parts that need to be replaced due to normal operation. The powertrain warranty, as well as the New-Vehicle Limited Warranty, is transferable during the covered period. This warranty is intended to give additional coverage for the most expensive components of the car and is dependent on following the recommended maintenance schedule.

Additional Coverage

In addition to the basic warranties, Mazda offers several additional warranties for new vehicles. The anti-corrosion warranty covers rust to the metal that occurs from the inside out. This warranty is good for 5 years and unlimited miles. Corrosion or rust that occurs due to damage will be excluded under this warranty. Brake pads may also be covered in certain situations, but the owner will typically be responsible for installation costs.

Mazda offers one of the industry’s best extended warranty programs in the industry. These warranties are available in comprehensive bumper-to-bumper coverage, and powertrain coverage. These plans can be tailored to the buyer’s wishes in many cases with available 9-year and 100,000-mile terms. These plans will typically involve a deductible for covered repairs.
